    hyperglycemia.-
    hypertension.-
    obesity.-
    and dyslipemia, that high cholesterol in blood (being the "good) one low and the "bad" one high, and also high triglycerids).-

    having this makes the probability of developing diabetes and heart conditions higher.-

    Symptoms:
    Fasting hyperglycemia
    high blood pressure
    Obesity
    Elevated triglycerides
    Decreased HDL


  • Commonly based the the following criteria:
    Hypertensive
    Hyperglycemic (higher than normal fasting blood glucose)
    Central obesity
    Low HDL (good cholesterol)
    High triglycerides

    Other conditions can go with this to include gout and polycystic ovarian syndrome.

    Metabolic syndrome increases a persons risk for developing diabetes, heart disease, and stroke.
