Question about subscribing to forums/categories (daily/weekly digest).

  • My forum is broken up into major categories like this:

    Product 1
    --- Forum 1
    -------- (threads)
    --- Forum 2
    -------- (threads)
    --- Forum 3
    -------- (threads)
    -------- Sub-Forum 1
    ------------ (threads)
    Product 2
    --- Forum 1
    -------- (threads)
    --- Forum 2
    -------- (threads)
    --- Forum 3
    -------- (threads)
    -------- Sub-Forum 1
    ------------ (threads)
    ... .etc.

    My question is, I would really like users to be able to subscribe to a digest for an entire Product, not only just Forums within a Product. If you own a particular product, you might want to get all news of what occurs related to that product. But these are forum "categories", and no Forum Tools menu appears within them (at least by default) - is there no way to subscribe to a daily/weekly digest of all activity within a category?


  • Alright, thank you - that would be a useful feature to add to your future list. In my case, for the way I use the forums, it would make perfect sense. I have a forum for users of certain types of keyboards. Each keyboard is a category, and within the category are different forums for different features of the keyboard. But for most people, they would want to just subscribe to the keyboard (that they have) and get all of the messages from all of the forums.


  • There is no option to get notifications for an entire category of forums. However, I think there is an addon on www.vbulletin.org that forces email notifications. That might work for you. I suggest you search / ask over there.
