Is it alright for me to let him use my address?

  • My brother uses my address to get his mail sent to my house so it don't get lost were he stays. I get help from the state so when I reapply for food stamps they type in my address wouldn't it is name show up saying he lives here? He has been using my address for 3 years now and they haven't said anything. I even get some of my ex's mail sent to my house.

  • Actually, the post office does track who is living at what address, that is how mail is redirected when you move. Even if you move and do not leave a forwarding address, they are sometimes able to forward mail to your new location depending on their resources.

    Additionally, who ever you are recieving food stamps from could audit your account and potentially bring you up on fraud charges because your information is not correct based on the amount of gov. assistance you are reciving. Be careful with that. It may just be that you need to make the agency aware of whats going on.
