Dash installation killed my xbox :(

I replaced my old XBMC (don't know which version) with the 8-22-06 version, and it worked fine when booting with EvoX as my dashboard. But no, that wasn't good enough for me, so I went to the wiki that was in the instructions and tried to set XBMC as the dashboard, and now the thing will only boot if I start it with a game inside - so I can only actually play xbox games on it, and nothing else. When I start up without a disc, I get the evox logo/xbox logo screen, but also the silver "openxdh" lettering from xbmc right below it. Either way, game or not, I can no longer FTP into it, so I can't just replace the files I changed and get it back to the way it was. Any ideas? Thanks!
you can just as easily boot a dash from dvd. just burn the dash of your choice to a dvd, boot it up and ftp in and clean up the mess.
I m facing the same prob with u. d/led v2.0.1 and the default.xbe is nt under the root dir.. Causing my xbox to hang @ the xbmc screen. (guess it loads using the old default.xbe)
I found out tt the default.xbe file is in the folder "xbe shortcut".
Can tell me where can i find info on the "rescue disc". I really need it to boot up my xbox(soft-modded) as i cant FTP anything now. Thx.
Just follow Spiff`s post and have the default.xbe in the root folder on the dvd, then you can "clean up the mess"
